MISSION

Our mission at KCF is “Lighting up the World of the Child” that is in social, financial and material need, through nurturing the soul, guiding the heart and educating the mind to lead a fulfilling and productive life.

Realizing this dream began with committed volunteers and a visionary who believed that something tangible could be done for these children. The first outreaches were conducted in 2004. Since then our ministry has grown to accommodate the growing needs of children on the street.

VISION
Our outreach team, the heart of our ministry, reaches out weekly to these vulnerable children where they live. Our goal for the future is to have multiple homes, for both boys and girls.

CURRENT EVENTS
"I wish to immediately say how honored I am to see the work going on here at Kakabalika. My immediate reaction to this is that we need to find ways of expanding and repeating this model in many places. As I went around the facilities, I realized and was happy to see that something is being done about the challenge of street children in our city and is being done well, and is being done with commitment and with excellence."

This was an excerpt from a speech given by a representative on behalf of the Ministry of
Community Development and Social Services.

"...what most people do not see is that this problem of street children brings with it many other problems. That if not managed, it can affect other sectors of community life such as tourism, investment, development (social structural and economic), and of much concern is how this problem affects the future of the nation."

Rev. Reuben Samboh, on Dedication Day
